The Way

There was something undefined and complete, existing before

Heaven and Earth. How still it was, how formless, standing

alone and undergoing no change, reaching everywhere with no danger

of being exhausted. It may be regarded as the mother of all things.

Truthfully it has no name, but I call it Tao.

The Fall

In a hospital on the outskirts of 1920s Los Angeles, an injured stuntman

(Pace) begins to tell a fellow patient, a little girl with a broken arm (Untaru),

a fantastical story about 5 mythical heroes. Thanks to his fractured state

of mind and her vivid imagination, the line between fiction and reality starts

to blur as the tale advances.

Watched this last night and it is well worth a look for it’s stunning

cinematography and the brilliant performance of the little girl.

The Fall.

The 10 most endangered languages

There are more than 6,900 languages used around the world today,

ranging in size from those with hundreds of millions of speakers to

those with only one or two. Language experts now estimate that as

many as half of the existing languages are endangered, and by the

year 2050 they will be extinct.

Doom Bar

Doom Bar Bitter is named after an infamous sandbank at

the mouth of the Camel Estuary in north Cornwall.

The Doom bar is at its most dangerous between low and

high tides when it is submerged by just a few feet.

Unsuspecting mariners can easily become stranded or in

extreme weather shipwrecked.

We’re still drowning in the stuff. Doom Bar.

My brother and The Roids

This is my brother Benjamin Alan William Oakley.

I think his problem began when he discovered that he

could alter his hair in new and exciting ways, getting it

‘feathered’ and having highlights of gold and silver

‘chipped-in.’ Then he found out about steroids. Gradually he

took more and more of them and gradually his head turned

more and more into the shape of a peanut. One time I caught him

in his room kissing his biceps as he turned the light on and off.

On another occasion, he tried to kiss me asking “do you feel me Bill?

Do you feel me?” until I punched one of his man-boobs (moobs).

I think he is now as gay as a window.
